Ripstop Fabric, 100% Cotton Ripstop

Ripstop fabric is easily identified by a subtle raised box or diamond pattern throughout the fabric. The pattern is created by double warp and weft threads at specific intervals. The doubled threads reinforce the fabric without adding weight. These threads also prevent small tears from spreading, hence the name ‘ripstop’. Nylon ripstop or nylon ripstop blends are often used for outdoor wear, tents and hot air balloons. Cotton and poly-cotton blend ripstop fabrics are commonly used for military style BDU pants and jackets where strength and durability are critical.
